D'mond Four Feathers

Personal Knowledge

Safeharbour is a large town or a small city depending on whether you have ever visited one of the cities on the mainland. It is situated at the mouth of the Dragon River. Two large islands guard the harbour and upon them are the Holy Temple of Solarios and the Royal Palace, the former partially abandoned the latter now home to the First. A high wall protects the city from attacks from both the seaward and landward sides.
You visited there once to do research in the library on Holy Island to aid in your search for the Rose of Deepdale but discovered nothing. You were disgusted that so many people could live in such cramped conditions and the smell from the area known as 'The Stink' was almost unbearable. You know nothing of the inns, you stayed on Holy Island. During your stay you received death threats to try and stop your search. These took the form of messages scrawled in blood on your door, ghostly whispers in the night and shadowy figures tracking your moves day and night.
You carry Ordanna's Ward and sense that she does not trust Simon.
You know the following command words for Ordanna's Ward:

  • Toadstool Detect Danger 200' radius for 6 minutes.
  • Springtime Control Plants in a 30' radius 20 minutes.
  • Breeze Dispels magic in 5' radius instantaneous.
  • Splinter Causes fear in a 120' radius 2 minutes.

Dwobnor found some references to the Rose of Deepdale in Sir Rupert's Library:
Dwobnor was not joking when he said that the scrolls were cryptic. Some showed nothing more than strange symbols that you assume to be astrological signs. Another is written in a language that you do not recognise on a strange smooth material unlike any velum or parchment you have ever seen before. The last scroll contains a short rhyme.

'Entrapped within a hidden tomb
With walls of bloodied ice
A maiden sleeps in scarlet gloom
And pays an awful price.
While flame can never hurt these walls
Your life may hold the key.
A gentle warmth can melt the walls
And set the maiden free,
Now find yourself a virgin knife
That's warmed by body heat
And spill the crimson of your life
And coat the walls complete.'
